Richard (Rick) Williams is Head of Digital Transformation and Chief Technology Officer at Kinore Finance & Business Services, where he leads the firm’s technology strategy across automation, AI-driven innovation, system integrations, and cybersecurity.
With over 12 years in software engineering, enterprise architecture, and digital transformation, Rick brings a depth of experience spanning Fortune 500 organisations across financial services, healthcare, energy, utilities, retail, e-commerce, and government. He built his career solving complex integration and architecture challenges for some of the world’s largest organisations before bringing that expertise to bear on the practical, day-to-day technology challenges facing Irish SMEs and scaling businesses.
At Kinore, Rick’s focus is on making technology work for the business, not the other way around. He specialises in helping organisations assess their current technology landscape, identify where manual processes and disconnected systems are creating cost and risk, and build structured roadmaps that align technology investment with long-term commercial goals. His approach is deliberately non-technical: plain language, practical frameworks, and guidance that business leaders can act on immediately.
Rick’s leadership philosophy is rooted in servant leadership, prioritising mentorship, collaboration, and continuous learning within his team. He is a firm believer that the right technology decisions, made in the right order, can transform how a business operates. As he puts it: “Tech isn’t just for the big players anymore. Originally from a global background, having grown up across Japan, Germany, and the United States, Rick has called Ireland home for a number of years and now splits his time between Donegal and Belfast.
Outside of work, Rick is a man of varied interests. He shoots archery, hikes, follows rugby, and has a passion for smart home technology and drones that will surprise no one who knows his day job. He is also, by his own admission, an accidental property developer, currently documenting the renovation of his latest project on LinkedIn.
He also oversees the firm’s technology portfolio and cybersecurity strategy, making sure systems remain secure, resilient, and fully compliant with industry standards.
